DISCOVER WHAT YOUR CANINE ATHLETE CAN DO

Why the change & which products will become Australian-made?

Eukanuba™ is part of a global company with diets made in dedicated factories around the world.

To ensure the ongoing availability of your dog’s Eukanuba™ diet in Australia, we continue to source our diets from multiple factories within our factory network, which now includes Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia!

To enable a smooth transition, the Australian manufacture of Eukanuba’s dry recipes is occurring gradually. We started the journey in 2020 and are continuing in 2021 with the following products being made in Australia and available for purchase from late February 2021*.

  • Adult Large Breed
  • Senior Large Breed
  • Exercise 26/16 (previously known as Premium Sport 28/18)
  • Sport 30/20 (previously known as Premium Performance 30/20) – available in Australia from December 2020

*Timing of availability for Australian-manufactured diets is dependent on individual retailer stock.

What does this means for Eukanuba™ dog’s and their owners?

Eukanuba™ dogs and their owners can continue to expect the same high-quality products that they have come to know and love.

All Eukanuba™ adult diets made in Australia will now include an added joint benefit to help unleash dogs’ physical capability for peak conditions and activity!

Plus, the new Sport 30/20 recipe includes further enhancements such as the added joint benefit, higher digestive control and tailored omega oils to help your dog perform at their best.

Dogs’ digestive systems are more sensitive than ours, so if you are feeding your dog a Eukanuba™ diet that is going to be made in Australia (refer to the product list above) it’s important to introduce the new kibble gradually.

How to introduce your dog to the new kibble…

Dogs’ digestive systems are more sensitive than ours, so it is important to introduce the enhanced kibble gradually. We recommend a 7-day feeding integration and here is how you do it…

On day one, begin by adding a small amount of the new diet to your dog’s existing Eukanuba™ food. As each day passes, add more of the new kibble and less of the old, until eventually your dog is only being fed the new kibble.

To allow for the recommended 7-day integration, purchase your next bag of Eukanuba™ when you have at least 7-days of your current kibble remaining.

Important note: As the Australian-made kibble will become gradually available to purchase from late February 2021 depending on recipe and bag size, it is recommended that pet owners check to see if their bag has the new packaging, and proceed with the 7-day transition once they have purchased their first Australian-made bag. You will recognise the Australian-made bags by their new packaging, as shown in the images below.

FAQs

Q: Where was Eukanuba™ being made before?

A: Eukanuba™ is part of a global company with products made in dedicated factories around the world. Prior to Australian manufacture, these Eukanuba™ dry diets were made in our factories in France and America.

Q: Will the other Eukanuba™ diets be manufactured in Bathurst, Australia?

A: Eukanuba™ will gradually transition the manufacture of its dry diets to the factory in Bathurst, Australia. The only remaining dry diet is Puppy Small Breed, which will be manufactured from the Bathurst Factory in late 2021.

Q: What about Eukanuba™ wet diets?

A: Eukanuba™ wet diets will continue to be made and sourced from the United States. The Bathurst Factory is equipped to make dry products only.

Q: Is the product the same?

A: We want your dog to continue being a Eukanuba™ dog. That is why our diets made in Australia have undergone thorough testing to ensure palatability remains the same (and in some cases even better!) as the original recipe.

Our dogs have an acute sense of smell and taste and may detect subtle differences as they move on to the Australian-made kibble. Therefore, it’s important to introduce the new kibble gradually over 7-days (as per the above).

However, if your dog doesn’t like the new kibble after following the 7-day transition process, we continue to offer the 100% palatability guarantee across the entire Eukanuba™ range. To access the palatability guarantee the product must be returned to the place of purchase within the original packaging and with more than 50% of the kibble inside.
